Arizond SCTP skeet championship
The Buckeye youth shooting team made it's first trip to the state championships last weekend. Nine kids, ranging in age from 11 to 19, traveled to Tucson to take on the best the state had to offer.
Buckeye SCTP skeet team
The final results were: Ethan, Koal, and Jessica on Junior Squad 1 took 3rd place in the squad competition (3 kids shoot as a team - individual scores are added to calculate the squad score) and my son, Nathan, took 3rd place in the Rookie division individual event. Every kid on the team had a good time and all of them shot their highest scores ever. A coach couldn't ask for more.
Nathan
As a side note, the other two shooters on Nathan's squad didn't show up, but even shooting by himself he was only 3 missed target's short of placing 3rd in the Rookie squad competition. That's my boy!
Kathy
My daughter Kathy didn't place, but she shot her highest score ever and enjoyed herself all day. Dad's proud of her too!
Little Big Men
These little guys are from a different club, but they are a blast to watch. In a few more years they will be the squad that all the others are measured against. The Tucson Citizen even did a write up on them here.
More to come later.......
